  Discipline:

When the school took off on May 8th, 2006 and classes commenced, all the teachers undertook to work to the best of their abilities.  We believe them.  But we were wrong in our belief as can be seen in the subsequent events.  Less than one week of the take off signs of disagreement and disharmony between the Ag. Headmaster and some teachers reared its ugly head.

Myself and other committee members intervened and advised the teachers to cooperate with the Headmaster to ensure the school stand on its feet.  Surprisingly and to my  Shagrin this conflict persisted, between especially the Headmaster and two teachers; Abdullahi Adamu Shira and Mal. Adamu Ali.

This forced me to bring the burning issues to the management committee meeting on two occasions.  Significantly the intervention of the management did not yield any meaningful results and the conflict between these two teachers and the Headmaster grew in intensity.

Consequently, on 6th September the management after due consideration and seeing the persistent conflicts may cripple the school activities, if allowed unabated decided to terminate the temporary appointment of Mal. Abdullahi Adamu and Mal. Adamu for the following reasons:-

a.                  Disobedience to School Management

b.                 Disloyalty to Head master and management.

c.                 Revealing of school secret to the public

d.                 Refusal to give the true financial position of the school to management.

e.                  Frequent absconding from school.

P.T.A.

Two weeks before the speech and Prizes Giving Day the School Authority invited the parents to the school for a meeting  for  formation and election of P.T.A Executives.  I chaired the meeting and the affairs were conducted peacefully.  We could not elect an executive due to lack of quorum.  However we formed a committee to help the school authority to organise the speech and prizes giving  day activities.  This was carried out successfully.

Another meeting was also called this also could not elect executive committee due to lack of quorum.  Then on Friday, 6th October 2006 parents including myself received note inviting them to General meeting on 8th October 2006.  This note was from a group that styled themselves as “Former P.T.A Eco of FOMWAN Nursery and Primary School now in Imam Malik Nursery and Primary school.  On receipt of this note I held a quick consultation with many of the management members and we decided not to allow this meeting since we did not recognizes this group.  So directed the Headmaster to lock the gate and put up a notice on the gate directing the parents not to honour this invitation.  We also quickly put up an announcement on the Radio in this regard.

However, Alh. Suleimanu approached me and other members and undertook to mediate between us and the members of those so-called Executive of former FOMWAN and we fixed a meeting between some members of the school management and the so-called Executive of FOMWAN.

This meeting went on smoothly until around 1PM when some other members gatecrashed into our meeting and caused confusion and disorder and the meeting ended in a haphazard manner.

After two days of this horrible experience I called a meeting of School Management Committee and briefed members about the fiasco of the previous two days.  It was decided that we should allow a “cooling period” to lapse before making efforts to form the P.T.A.  Executive, again So this is the position as at present.  I believe time is now ripe for forming of the P.T.A.  This report is for the consideration of the management committee, please.
